Mother tongue is a divine gift . From the holy Quran we come to know that the most merciful almighty has bestowed a mother tongue upon each and every caste , creed and color . Mother tongue is , so important that the people of a country express their ideas, thoughts, feelings emotions etc. Clearly through mother tongue. But it is an irony of fate that the then rulers of Pakistan tried to impose Urdu as mother tongue upon us instead of Bangla. But the people of our country raised their voice against this unlawful decision . Some of the heroic sons came for ward  and sacrificed their glorious life for the cause of our mother tongue on the 21st February , 1952 . Sin
ce then this day is called the shaheed dib ash. Every year we remember this day with solemnity and pay them profound tribute. Now it  is a great pleasure for us that the UNESCO has announced February 21 as the international mother language day to be observed globally in recognition of the sacrifices of the martyrs for establishing the rightful place of bangle . It is a great tribute and glowing home paid by the international community to the language martyrs of Bangladesh .

Last week i witnessed the most terrible accident in my life. I was going back home from collage. It was about quarter past to two o'clock in the noon . in fact i was walking on the pavement of Dhaka to Aricha highway near the  Ganashastya kendra at Savar. This highway remains busy all the time . At one point of time here was a gap and no vehicles were found to come from the  front side just then one of my  classmates began running to cross the road . His residence was on the other side of the high way in the ganashastya kendra campus. But he could not cross the road and never  reached his residence . Before reaching the other side of the road a truck came up from behind without our notice and went away pressing his body to the ground. there was just a cry and everything stopped . All of us rushed to the spot and turned  stone. He was taken to the ganashastya kendra hospital . The doctor on duty declared him dead . I will never forget this tragic accident.

Drug addiction is a great problem in the modern society . It is a social evil and vice . Drug addiction is caused by frustration in life. Some young people take drug to forget their failures in life. Sometimes evil company and liking for evil things lead a man to drug addiction. Furthermore, there are some very rich men who are reckless in life and take drug as a means of enjoyment .  Taking drug is a kind o luxury to them . A drug addicted man is like a beast. He fails to control himself. He loses his physical as well as mental balance. He loses all the good ides of his character  and moral restraint . Drug addiction severely affects one's health . It causes untimely and painful death. Drug It must be stopped otherwise our whole society will collapse soon.

Load shedding means the suspension of the supply of electricity for a certain period . It has become a regular affair everywhere in our country. Load shedding occurs for different causes. The insufficient production of electricity in our country is the main cause of load shedding. Misuse  of electricity is another cause. Illegal connection of electricity is also responsible for load shedding. On the Otherhand, government is not sincere to produce electricity in proportion to our demand . Lack of electricity means lack of production . So due to load shedding production in mills and factories is decreased to a great extent.

Fresh food taken in the refrigerator gets rotten . It plunges the city or part of it into darkness. Load shedding at night encourages the miscreants to increase their violent work. It also disturbs the study of the students.

Traffic jam refers to a long line of vehicles on the road leading to serious road block. It is a common picture of the major road of Bangladesh . It is also seen on the town or even rural roads. There are some causes behind these . Firstly, many drivers are ignorant of traffic rules while some others deliberately violate  traffic rules . This leads to serious road block. Again , planning of various vehicles with different velocity  causes traffic jam . The vehicles with high speed are sometime blocked by vehicle with less speed. Then  traffic jam is largely due to thousand to rickshaws playing on the busy roads. Besides, sometime water clogged  in the road leads to traffic jam. Finally poor  driving, reckless parking alongside pavements and unhealthy completion among drivers cause traffic jam. Because  of traffic Uma noue can reach his destination Intime. It can be solved by maintaining traffic rules strongly as well as making drivers conscious about following these rules.

At present street accidents are regular happening in Bangladesh . The causes of street accidents are reckless driving , brake failures of vehicles , over-taking of one vehicle by another, driving by unskilled drivers. Overloading of vehicle is another reason for accidents. Another reason is violation  to traffic rules. Even the police cannot control the traffic rule breakers . The big vehicles knock down The small vehicles and cause accidents. Sometimes pedestrians are crashed under the wheels of heavy vehicles. Sometimes the speedy vehicles fall into the roadside ditch or into the river and thus kill the passengers on the spot . Many lives are nipped in the bud . Many a family loses the only earning member. Many people become crippled . Street accidents make many children orphans. Many wives become windows. So the street accident is like a curse in our life. Necessary steps must be taken to prevent street accidents.
